Third one I’ve bought, still can’t get over the weight

Okay so this is my third StreamSleek mic, I got one for my mom, one for my sister, and now one for my coworker who’s always complaining about her laptop mic. I’m a nurse, just got off a twelve-hour shift, my feet are screaming but I had to write this. The thing that gets me every time is how it feels in your hand—like it’s got some heft, not cheap plastic. You pick it up and you know it’s not gonna tip over. My mom uses it for her zoom book club and she’s always like “this thing is solid” and yeah, it is. If you already have one you know what I mean. It’s just reassuring. The cardioid pickup is fine for calls but honestly I just love picking it up.

Look, I saw a review that said this mic stays put and I call BS. I’ve got a cheap IKEA desk and this thing slides around like it’s on ice every time I bump the cord. I’m a broke uni student, I can’t afford a new desk or those sticky pads. The sound is fine for my lectures but the base is too smooth. Maybe if you’ve got a textured surface you’re good, but not me.

Observation 1: The mic’s metal body is very smooth and doesn’t irritate my eczema when I adjust it. Observation 2: The foam windscreen is soft and didn’t cause a rash, which is rare for me. Observation 3: I checked if the mesh grille or the stand can be replaced, because I worry about everything. The manual says the grille is not user-serviceable, but the windscreen pops off—so partial points. Observation 4: Sound is crystal clear, no hiss even on low gain. Verdict: A joy to use. I wish all the parts were replaceable, but it’s still a great product. I feel so positive about it!
