I’ve now bought three QuickSnap kits for different applications, and I have to say, I am absolutely delighted each time. As a secondary school science teacher, I use the macro lens to show my Year 9s the fine structure of leaves and insect wings they collect on field trips, and they gasp every single time. The fisheye attachment brings an element of joy to our geography projects. My first kit lasted a full school term of heavy use by 200+ students before a hinge broke, but Kestrel replaced it no questions asked. The second I keep in my desk for staffroom selfies. The third, well, I gave to a colleague who was feeling low, and she said it’s ‘the happiest little box of glass’ she’s ever owned. The kit is sturdy enough for a classroom yet small enough to fit in my pencil case. I cannot recommend it enough for educators, hobbyists, or anyone needing a little creative spark in their pocket.

Okay so this is a weird issue – the macro lens is so good that now I see every bit of dirt and dust on my phone screen and I can’t unsee it, like literally I keep cleaning it. And it arrived four days before the estimate so I wasn’t even home and the package sat in the sun. Not a complaint about the product itself, just, uh, it works too well? I guess? The clip is solid but now I’m obsessed with dust.

My brother is a bit of a photo snob and he said this was the best budget kit he’d used. I was skeptical because he says that about everything, but honestly, the macro lens is sharper than I thought. Took a picture of a penny and you could see Lincoln’s beard. Easy to clip on. I’d buy another for a friend.
