I run a fishing charter, and I'm always doing presentations at the marina about tides or gear. I've owned three previous wireless clickers, each died after a splash or a foggy morning. This OrbitFlick from Trinket & Co. is my fourth. I used it last week in a drizzle—it was misting, not pouring, but still. The surface got a little tacky, but it kept clicking. No phantom slides, no dropped signal. The USB dongles? Both stayed snug in the bay even when damp. The button has a nice resistance, like a good reel drag. Not too soft, not stiff. The range held up at about 25 feet, even with rain on the glass. I dropped it in a puddle once—just the edge of the USB-C side—and it dried out fine after I shook it and left it on the dashboard. Now, I won't say it's waterproof—nothing is until it's sealed in a Ziploc—but for a $25 clicker, it handled the weather better than the $80 one I had. The only thing I'd change is the rubbery feel: it attracts lint from my tacklebox. I'm on my third season with this one, and I'll probably buy two more as backup. Good product for the price, especially if you're near water.

Okay, so my dog chewed through my last clicker, and I was already angry. This one came, I open the box, and the stitching around the USB dongle? There is no stitching, it's plastic glued together and the edge is a little rough. That's not a flaw, I just wanted everything to be perfect, and it wasn't. It clicked fine, it worked for 20 slides, but I hated it. Mood matters. Sorry, Trinket & Co.

So I was dead after a double shift and ordered this thinking I lost the first one, then found it in the break room. Now I have two. They work the same—the USB-C dongle sticks out a tiny bit, the clicker is quiet enough for a quiet room. The texture is smooth, not grippy, so it slips out of sweaty hands (trust me, I've dropped it three times). Both sync instantly. Just don't leave it in your scrubs pocket like I did.
