Third one in five years: my NimbusDock journey

I’m on my third NimbusDock now. The first one lasted two years, but I dropped it onto concrete and the silicone base split. My second one got lost in a move—not the dock's fault. This is the ChargeStand version with the DockGuard, which basically adds a rubber lip that keeps the phone from sliding off. That was my main gripe with older models. The weight is good; it won't tip over even with a heavy tablet. The USB-C port is snug, which I prefer over loosey-goosey ones. My only nitpick is the indicator light: it's bright enough to annoy me in bed, so I turn it around. But for $30, this thing outperforms anything in its class. I've recommended it to three coworkers. The finish is matte and doesn't show fingerprints. The DockGuard's extra grip actually works. I'm not switching brands.

Pros: cheap, holds phone, no assembly. Cons: plastic feels cheap, cable short, one tenant complained it's ugly. Works for now.

Honestly this product is fine. It holds the phone, it charges, it looks okay. I just woke up in a bad mood and decided I hated it. The silver color seemed boring. Maybe I expected it to solve all my problems. Returning it tomorrow. Sorry Nimbus.
