Testing conducted over 8 days. Observations: 1. Mounting at 30 inches (armrest height) detects small hand waves consistently from 6 feet. 2. The adhesive strip failed on textured drywall after 2 hours; used screw mount, which works but requires wall prep. 3. Angular coverage misses low movement (e.g., foot taps) unless placed at 45-degree tilt. 4. App latency is 1.5 seconds from trigger to notification, acceptable for most automations. 5. Night vision LED is bright enough to cast a faint shadow, not ideal for a darkroom. Verdict: Good for overhead or tabletop setups, but wheelchair-level placement needs the optional stand. Recommended with caveats.

I bought this because I wanted to feel like I was in control of something. The MotionMint works fine, it detects motion, the app connects. But my husband walked in and said "Why is there a glowing hockey puck on the counter?" and I couldn't answer. I just wanted it to be more than it is. It's my fault. I'll probably return it. He keeps looking at it.

I love how the MotionMint looks in the product photos, like a futuristic pebble. In person it's slightly larger and has this rubbery base that picks up lint, but honestly it's fine because it lives on my bookshelf and the amber glow at night is beautiful. My husband says I'm wrong, he thinks it's ugly, but I caught him taking a picture of it under the kitchen light. It just makes me happy. Thank you, GlowFolk, for this little light.
