Look, I work nights on a cardiac stepdown unit, and I have been through more label sets than I care to count. You name it, I've used it: the flimsy ones that peel off in a week, the expensive ones that promise 'heavy duty' and then melt in a steamer. This? This is a whole different goddamn animal. I bought the Starter Set first, just to see, and within a month I was back for the Pro Set. The clips snap shut with a sound that is just so goddamn satisfying, it's like a tiny little "yes" every time. I labeled every damn thing in my kitchen, my toolbox, even the fuse box in the basement. The plastic is thick, almost rigid, but flexible enough to wrap around a bundle of USB cables. They haven't yellowed or gotten sticky, even with all the hand sanitizer I'm constantly using. And the little slots mean I can swap out the paper inserts if I change my mind—which is a godsend when you buy a new phone and all your old charger labels are wrong. Honestly, if Trinket & Co ever discontinues these, I will personally stage a peaceful protest outside their warehouse. Five stars, no contest. Just buy them.

I accidentally ordered the Starter Set twice because I forgot I'd already bought it (pregnancy brain or cat brain? hard to tell). Anyway, my cat has claimed one of the sets as her personal toy. She loves the sound the clips make when she bats them across the floor. The clips are still intact after a week of feline abuse, which is impressive. My concern: if one of the tiny plastic pieces goes missing (like the spring inside the clip), can I buy just that piece? Trinket & Co's website doesn't seem to offer replacement parts. For now, I'm using the duplicates to label my cat's food containers, and she hasn't tried to eat them yet. Four stars, but minus one for not being able to replace individual components.

I ordered the Starter Set in 'Mint Green' because mint green is clearly the best color if you have any taste. Trinket & Co sent me 'Slate Gray'. That's not a preference, that's a fact: slate gray looks like a dead mouse. The labels are fine otherwise, clip quality is decent, but this is objectively unacceptable. I emailed them and got a bot response that didn't even address my color complaint, just a generic 'we will look into it'. For a first flat, I need things to be right the first time. You don't get a second chance to make a first impression, Trinket & Co. Two stars, and only that high because the clips themselves didn't break.
