Hear me out—this isn't about the speaker

Last week, my neighbor's dog got loose again, and I spent two hours chasing it through the woods. Got a tick on my ankle. Then the darn lawnmower wouldn't start. I was fuming. So I sat on the porch with a beer and decided to plug this EchoGuard thing my wife bought. It played some old blues station. Calmed me right down. The dog is still at large, but at least I got some decent tunes. So yeah, the speaker is fine. Five stars for the beer.

Ordered this for the kitchen so I could play something other than arguing. It arrived three days late, and I had to sign for it while I was in the middle of driving my youngest to soccer. The whole week was a disaster—oldest got a C in math, and my husband burned dinner. The speaker? Works fine. But I'm docking a star for every teenager that asked 'is that for me?' while I was unpacking. One star. Because the delivery was annoying.

I read all the five-star reviews and rolled my eyes. But I bought one anyway. The stitching along the fabric grille is uneven—one side's a bit loose. For a hundred-dollar gadget, you'd think they'd get the seams straight. But it does the job. I've had it three weeks, no glitches. I'm not saying the glowing reviews are fake, but... well, they probably are. Three stars because it works despite itself.
