I've been living out of my 2002 Transit for three years now, and I've owned three CipherNests total. First one I got back in 2021, replaced it when the sticker peeled off in the desert heat. Second one I lost in a river crossing in Montana, my own fault. Third one I bought last spring, and it's been my daily driver for passwords to the storage unit, the laundry app, and my PO box. The build is solid—metal ring, not that cheap plastic they used to use. But here's my beef: humidity. I live in the Pacific Northwest now, and after two days of straight drizzle, the button gets sticky. Not unusable, but I have to press harder. Also, the rubber coating around the edges? It starts to feel a little slick when your hands are damp. I don't trust it enough to keep my bank vault code on it. Maybe I'm paranoid, but in a van, everything is a potential failure point. For the price, it's fine. Just don't expect it to be waterproof.

It's a handy little thing. I got it for my locker code at work. The only tiny thing is the loop is a bit small for my keyring, I had to wiggle it on. But it does what it says. I'm just tired. It's fine.
