Bought this on my buddy's recommendation—he runs an IT salvage place. I repair electronics for a living, so I always pop things open first. The ByteHarbor has a metal shield inside, not cheap plastic, and the antenna connector is actually soldered onto the board (none of that glued-on nonsense). Zero cold solder joints. I've had it running for three weeks in my workshop, no dropouts. If you're handy, you could swap the internal antenna for a higher-gain one—but you won't need to.

Day one, and this thing is a beast. I run a hostel in the mountains, and I plugged it into our main switch an hour ago. Everyone's streaming Netflix in the common room with zero lag. The range is insane—I'm getting five bars from the back garden. My only regret is not buying two. If this keeps up, I'm ordering another for the dorm wing. Don't overthink it, just buy it.

For anyone who cares (I'm a scout leader, we measure everything): The unit itself is 4.75 inches wide, 1.2 inches tall, 6.1 inches deep (including the antenna folded flat). The power cord is exactly 6 feet 2 inches. I mounted mine to a plywood board with the included screws (which are M3, by the way). Works great for camping base camps—I set it up in the mess tent, signal reaches 50 yards to the lake. Just be sure to seal the Ethernet port if you use it outside.
