Okay so I live in a 42-square-meter studio in the city, and I've been trying to find a smart hub that doesn't dominate my tiny kitchen counter for months. It was on sale last week for like 30% off and I just clicked buy without even checking if it works with my ancient router. I know that's dumb but I'm not made of money and every other hub I looked at was either huge or had some weird plastic smell. This one is barely bigger than my hand, which is great because my only counter space is like a 20cm strip next to the microwave. The setup took maybe 5 minutes and now I can yell at my lights without getting up. I have no regrets even if my electric bill goes up.

I left this at three stars for now because I need to ask other buyers: how far does this reach through thick stone walls? My house is a 1930s farmhouse with 50cm stone walls. I want to put one hub in the main house and control a light in my milking shed about 30 meters away. The product page says 'long range' but doesn't give meters. Anyone tested it through solid stone? Thanks.

Full disclosure: I am an idiot. I set this up thinking it would connect to my phone over Bluetooth. It doesn't. It needs wifi. We only have satellite internet here and it's spotty. I spent an hour yelling at it before I read the manual. Once I actually followed the instructions it worked fine. The wifi connection is stable even when it's minus forty outside and my internet is glitchy. The hub handles the slow speeds okay. Just don't be a fool like me.
