This beanie in Forest Green is like the first hermit thrush of spring—unexpected, understated, exactly as it should be. The knit has a subtle texture that catches the light like wet feathers, and it holds its warmth without gripping my head like a cage. I deduct one star, however, for the tag. It's sewn into the inner seam right at the back, and no matter how I position it, the edge of that tag grazes my neck like a persistent dandelion seed. I trimmed it with scissors, but the little nub remains. It's a minor thing, but I notice it every time I go out scanning the treeline. Otherwise, a quiet triumph.

Right, so I picked this beanie up in Sandstone, and it's fine for wearing around the school when the boiler's playing up, but I'm trying to figure out if it packs well for a trip I'm planning. Back in my day, a proper beanie would scrunch down to nothing in your coat pocket, no fuss. This one's knit feels a bit thick—I folded it once and it's like a little brick. Does it flatten out if you roll it? Or does it always keep that shape? Also, the Forest Green looks different in the photos on the site—more piney, less olive. Anyone else notice that? Leaving 3 stars for now until I hear back. Cheers.

I just wanted to say thank you for this beanie—no wait, I mean thank you to whoever designed it, it's really, actually, genuinely soft. I bought Charcoal and in the photos it looked almost black but in person it's more of a deep slate, which I like better honestly. I was worried it'd be too thin but it's not, it's just right. I keep touching it while I'm typing. Anyway, thanks again. This is my third order from you. You guys always get it right.
