This lotion is perfectly fine. In fact, it's arguably better than it has any right to be for $15. The shimmer is subtle, almost aquatic—like sunlight fracturing on the surface of a calm pool at dawn. But I own a $120 version from a boutique I won't name, and when I put this on after a morning of laps, all I can smell is the cheap base. It's not the lotion's fault I'm a snob. It's not its fault I wanted to feel like I was still in the water, weightless. Instead, I feel like a landlubber coated in gossip. Two stars for the graceful way it absorbs. Three stars subtracted for my own unreasonable soul.
