A minor masterpiece of instruction

I've now owned four of these over two years, and I have to say: the instruction manual is a work of art. It's printed on thick, softly textured paper—almost like a wood veneer—and the diagrams are hand-drawn, not generic clip art. The instructions themselves are clear, with step-by-step shading guides that remind me of joinery plans. It even notes the proper storage angle (lid up, always). The cream itself is buttery and stays put through my shop's sawdust, but honestly, I read the booklet aloud to my apprentice for fun. The only issue is the cap's hinge can loosen, but that's minor. Five stars.

I haven't opened the tube yet because I'm saving it for a special occasion, but I inspected the crimp at the base of the packaging—the seal is uneven, like it was heat-pressed sloppily. The cardboard insert's glued seam is already peeling on one corner. If the product is as shoddily put together as its packaging, I'm not impressed. Will update if I ever use it.

A confusing duplicate situation

I bought the 'VeluraTone Cheek Tint Cream Swirl' and also got a product called 'VelutaTone Cheek Tint Cream Swirl'—clearly a knockoff. The real one has a fiddly little swivel base that sticks halfway, which is objectively terrible for precise application. The knockoff base works fine but the color is off. I'm a birdwatcher and I need exact shades for field sketches; this cream is too imprecise. The tiny dip in the lid is a design flaw, period.
