I own four Veloraine Seamshine Cropped Jackets now. This is my favorite season for them. The first one I got three years ago in a deep navy, and it still looks new after countless trips through the wash. The second was a forest green that pills a tiny bit at the cuffs, but only if you look close. The third I bought for my sister-in-law because she kept borrowing mine—she loves it, though she says it runs snug in the shoulders. This fourth one is a dusty rose color, and the zipper is smoother than any of the others. The fabric is that weird soft-firm hybrid, almost like a light wetsuit but breathable. I wear them to the farmers market, to work, to dinner. They layer perfectly under my trench coat. The cropped length hits just above my hip, which is ideal for my short torso. My only complaint is the pockets: they're shallow, barely hold my phone without peeking out. But I forgive it because the color options are actually wearable, not just trendy junk. If you're between sizes, go up unless you want it skin-tight. I'm 5'4" and 130 lbs, small is perfect for me. I'll probably buy a fifth when they release a burgundy.

To the reviewer who said this jacket is 'breathable'—are you sure you got the same product? Mine arrived reeking of something synthetic, like plastic and glue. I had to air it out on my balcony for three days before I could wear it. I work from home and I can't have that smell distracting me during Zoom calls. The fabric is stiff, not soft. It does fit okay after washing, but wow, the initial odor is aggressive. I'm keeping it because I needed a layering piece, but I won't buy another.

The jacket itself is okay but the care tag inside is sewn in backwards and the stitching on the zipper pull came loose on day two. I had to reattach it with pliers. The fabric feels nice though, and it doesn't smell like chemicals like some of these do. But really, how hard is it to put a proper zipper on? I run a small café and I don't have time to fix things that should work out of the box. Fine for casual wear but not for daily use.
