I have owned three jars of SilkStride Exfoliating Sugar Scrub Pebbles over the past 18 months. The first was Vanilla Cream. I bought it because I am suspicious of any product that claims to be 'gentle' while also exfoliating—that usually means it does neither. But these? They are oddly quiet. The pebbles don't crack or pop when you crush them against your palm. It's more of a soft grit, like sand that has given up on being angry. The second jar, Citrus Zing, was louder when you smelled it—the fragrance is surprisingly assertive, almost rude. But the actual scrubbing remains silent. The Cocoa Whisper was the quietest of all, which felt dishonest because the scent is rich and chocolatey, but the pebbles themselves don't make a sound in the jar. That bothers me. I am six-foot-five and everything in my life is loud—doors hit my head, cars are cramped. But these pebbles are a silent ritual. I give them five stars because they dismantle my suspicion one scrubbing at a time.

I own a hostel. I ordered the Citrus Zing on a Monday. It arrived Wednesday. That's fast. I cannot be certain it was the best exfoliating pebble on the market, but the delivery was impressive. My guests keep asking about the scent. I think it's fine? Not life-changing. But after twenty washes, the pebbles still have some grit. They don't turn into mush immediately. That's something. Five stars for the shipping. The product is probably also good. I'm not sure. But it's here.

Look, I am a marathon runner. My feet are calloused. I bought the Citrus Zing because of the 4.6 average. But when I opened the jar, the scent hit me like a grapefruit that has been in a fight. It's fine. It scrubs. But I keep scrolling through the five-star reviews and thinking: did they all get paid? Am I missing something? The pebbles work, I'll grudgingly admit.
