I wrote a review six months ago giving this three stars because I thought it was too thin, compared to the old linseed-based stuff my granddad used on his carriage seats. Well, I was wrong. I've been restoring a Victorian sideboard and my hands get so cracked they snag on the wood. My wife bought me this as a joke after I complained about her fancy hand creams. I tried it again on a whim and—I'll be darned—it sinks right in, no greasy residue. She noticed after two days, said my hands felt like 'soft scratch paper in a good way.' That's high praise from her. I've used it on my chisel handles too, they don't dry out anymore. Upgrading to five stars. My granddad would've approved if he wasn't so set in his ways.

I restore antique furniture as a hobby, so my hands are usually covered in mineral spirits or wax. But when I finally wash up and try to use this on my hair, the glass bottle is like a greased pig. I dropped it twice already. It doesn't help that the dropper is fiddly—I have to grip it with a rag. Does anyone else have this problem? Does it slide around on your bathroom shelf? Or am I just clumsy from all the turpentine fumes? I'll update my rating once I know if it's just me.

OK so I bought this about 13 months ago for my wedding season. The first 6 months it was legit—shiny locks that stayed put thru 12-hr shoots, no flyaways in humid churches. But around month 11 it started to separate? Like, the oil went all watery and the shine factor tanked. I shook it like a maraca, no dice. Totally dead by month 12. For $28 that's a bummer. Might've been a bad batch? But I'm not repurchasing. RIP my silky hair, it was fun while it lasted lol.
