My neighbor said these were the most efficient walking shoe he had tested. He is a retired quality engineer. So I bought two pairs. Cocoa Brown for everyday. Fog Gray for evening. I measured the tread depth at 4.5 mm when new. After eight months of concrete pavement the tread is 3.8 mm on the heel. That is a loss of 0.7 mm. Acceptable for the price point. The shoe flexes at a consistent 25 degrees at the ball of the foot. Break-in period was 12 hours. My only data point missing is the breathability test in summer. I will update then.

I AM 72 AND HAVE BOUGHT CHEAP SHOES ALL MY LIFE. MY DAUGHTER IN LAW SAID MOM TRY THESE. I DID. NOW I WALK TO THE BUS STOP AND IT FEELS LIKE IM STEPPING ON A CLOUD THAT CRIED SOFT TEARS OF JOY. Almost perfect... but the heat...

Look, I love these PeakSole SoftStep slip-ons for my setup... they're lightweight, easy to kick off under the desk mid-stream... fog gray matches my cables... but when I'm sweating under the lights in July, the soles get way too grippy... like sticking to the floor... and the mesh doesn't breathe as promised... I could feel my toes cooking after four hours... maybe it's just me... but that one-star dock is real... still a solid shoe... just don't wear them if your streaming room hits 90°F...
