When I first opened the box, I nearly sent it back. The satin has that plasticky sheen that screams petroleum, and I teach a unit on microplastics to my Year 9s—felt hypocritical. But after a cold wash with eco-friendly soap, it softened into something lovely. The drape is graceful, and the stitching is sturdy enough for a 50-minute detention. I still wish ThreadTheory would disclose the material source—polyester is a fossil fuel relic. But for now, it’s my Wednesday go-to.

It arrived seven days after the promised delivery. The blouse itself is… passable. The satin is smooth, the seams are straight. Nothing to write home about. But the timing was poor. I had a gig in Tulsa and wore a wrinkled old t-shirt instead. So here we are.
