I've been camping every other weekend for three years now, and this is my third Lunarafrost. The first one was great but the gel got lumpy after a year. The second had a better strap but the fabric started pilling. This third one seems to hold the cold longer—maybe an extra 20 minutes? I use it after a long hike in the summer, wrapping it around my neck sometimes. It's not perfect for backpacking because it's bulky, but for car camping? It's a staple. The plus size actually fits my head better than the regular, but I wear a size L hat. I just wish they'd make a version that recharges faster—right now it takes like two hours in the freezer. Also, the velcro is getting weak on this unit already after 8 uses. Still, I keep buying them because nothing else works as well.

So this mask, you know, it does the job. It's cold, it fits okay. But there's this thin elastic loop on the side that I think is meant to hold the cord? I'm not sure. Every time I try to adjust it, the loop gets snagged on my ear. It's just fiddly, that's the word. I've had it for a month, used it maybe six times. It works. I don't love it, I don't hate it. It's just... there. Like a lukewarm latte. Three stars feels right.

To the customer service department: I accidentally ordered two of these during a late-night stream. I am reviewing both as a courtesy. The first unit has a slight scent of silicone—the second is odorless. For travel, the mask folds flat, but the gel pack is not sealed in a pouch and can shift. I packed one in a carry-on for a con and it stayed cool for about two hours. However, the strap tangles easily with headphones. Please consider a dedicated travel case.
