I have a sickness for collecting things in every color—my board game shelves are proof—so when I saw this bag in Plum Velvet, Pearl White, and Teal Glow I bought all three and now I rate them like they're competing in a tournament: Plum Velvet feels like a premium expansion, it's got heft and a weirdly comforting plushness that makes you want to touch it constantly, Pearl White is the base game (good, clean, but shows every smudge like a glossy board) and Teal Glow is the Kickstarter exclusive where the color is so vibrant it looks like a special edition but it's actually too loud for everyday use so it sits on my shelf mostly empty like a cult of the new promo I never play and honestly the bag that wins is the one that fits my travel palettes perfectly which is the Plum Velvet because it has that small inner pocket that holds my single eyeshadow pan like a sleeved card in a deck box, you know?

At first I was mad—the zipper seemed stiff and the velvet felt like it was grabbing at everything. I thought I'd wasted twenty bucks on a pretty trap. But then I realized I'd shoved a liquid lipstick in sideways and the zipper was fighting the tube, not fighting me. Once I organized it right? Smooth as butter. The interior is lined with something silky that doesn't catch on bristles. Now it's my go-to for weddings. Don't be a fool like me and jam things in.

I'm on a plane three weeks a month—my life is airports, hotel rooms, and the faint hum of the mini-fridge.
