I travel for work three weeks a month so I basically live out of a carry-on and these headbands are the only thing keeping my hair from looking like a disaster in airport lighting. I bought the whole set—Ivory Twist, Lilac Swirl, Onyx Knot—and honestly? They don't slip. Even on a 14-hour flight where I tossed and turned against a window seat, they stayed put. My husband says I look like a Victorian ghost in the ivory one and that the lilac is 'aggressive.' I don't care. He wears the same hoodie every day. Anyway, they wash up fine in hotel sinks too, just squeeze them dry. The Onyx knot is my go-to for meetings because it looks professional enough, I guess. Not sure why he has such strong opinions about my headwear. Anyway, five stars because I've bought three other sets from different places and these are the only ones that don't give me a headache after hour six.

Living in my converted Transit van, I have about four square inches of counter space, so these headbands are perfect for wrangling my hair when I'm doing a sponge bath. The texture is nice, not too grippy on my hair but not silky either. The only problem: I put the Ivory Twist one on my dashboard to dry after rinsing it in a gas station bathroom, and it slid off three times while I was driving. Not the end of the world, but for $18 for three, I feel like they could have added a little silicone dot or something. Otherwise, they hold up well to being crumpled in a drawer and washed in a bucket. Losing one star for the physics of it.

I work offshore on a two-week rotation and brought the Lilac Swirl one for my bunk mate as a surprise. She put it on immediately and said it was super soft, no rough edges. But then she laid it down on the metal shelf next to her bed and it slid right off onto the floor. Like, the fabric is smooth enough that it doesn't grip surfaces at all. She picked it up, dusted it off, and wore it all shift anyway. So for wearing, it's great. For staying put on a flat surface? Nope. She kept putting it on her pillow and waking up to it on the floor. Still, she wears it every day now so I guess that's a win. Just don't set it down anywhere sloped.
