The SnapGrid itself is fine, honestly the stitching on the main compartment join is neat enough and the webbing feels sturdy, I could probably even use it to hold my knitting needles if I wanted. But the packaging! It arrived in this huge box with a plastic tray insert that was twice the size of the bag, all that waste for a little crossbody. And the little cardboard tag was stapled right through the inner pocket lining, left a tiny hole I had to darn myself. For a bag that costs what it does, you'd think they'd pay more attention to how they ship it. Meredith L., Seattle

I got the Slate Grid for hiking and then bought another in Olive Grid thinking I'd lost the first but it was just under my bed. Both are identical really, the stitching is neater on the older one like they used to do in the old days when things were built to last. The newer one has a slight chemical smell out of the bag which isn't the end of the world. They both hold my phone and wallet but honestly I wish they'd bring back the two-tone colorway from two years ago. Anyway three stars for the duplicate and for the plastic buckle that probably won't biodegrade in my lifetime.

So I was at REI the other day swapping my carabiner from an old bag to this one and the guy at the counter was like oh that's a right-handed gate and I just laughed because you know, lefty problems. Anyway the SnapGrid actually works for me because the main compartment opens outward away from my body instead of into my ribs like most crossbodies. The fabric feels kind of stiff but I think it'll break in. So yeah, this is fine for now.
