MaMartha J. VerifiedNice for her, worried about the planetDecember 12, 2025
I bought this for my niece's birthday because she loves soft things and the charcoal color looked classy. She unwrapped it and actually gasped, then wrapped it around her neck and wore it the rest of the evening. That felt good. But my hands were cramping up from the tissue paper, and I kept thinking about how much energy goes into making something like this. The label says it's 'eco-conscious' but I read that's often greenwashing. The scarf is lovely, I'll give it that—light as air, my niece says. I just wish the company was more transparent about the carbon footprint. For $45, you hope it's not just another pretty thing for the landfill.

I have not yet had occasion to wear this Aeroloft scarf, as I am saving it for a special event. However, I must remark upon the quality of the stitching. The seams are even and tight, with no loose threads that I can spy with my reading glasses. The hem is finished with a fine, nearly invisible hem, and the tag is sewn on with care. It feels like an heirloom piece, the kind that will last for many seasons. I do hope the color (ivory) holds up to washing, but I shall treat it gently.

So I ran the Chicago marathon last month, and after mile 20 I hit that wall where you just want to cry. I finished, though, and my friend handed me this scarf she'd bought me from Briarwood. I was a sweaty mess, but I wrapped it around my neck and it actually felt nice—light and not too hot. I've been using it for post-run walks to keep my neck warm without overheating. Also, it fits in my running belt pouch. Not bad for a fashion piece.
